Since 2023, the Rising Starr Middle School Lacrosse program has competed in the Georgia Middle School Athletic Association (GMSAA).  The GMSAA is a residency-based organization offering leagues for middle school lacrosse programs. GMSAA serves more than 6,000 student-athletes. Participation is aligned with a student’s high school district, allowing athletes to compete within their designated feeder program. This structure enables high school coaching staff to begin developing athletes as early as sixth grade, rather than waiting until their freshman year. GMSAA encourages alignment between middle school and high school programs by promoting the use of consistent offensive and defensive systems, helping athletes build a strong foundation in strategy and execution.

GMSAA upholds strict enforcement of its bylaws to ensure athlete safety and maintain high standards for coaching education, including concussion protocols. The organization is committed to the development of its athletes, both in skill and knowledge of the game. Its Executive Officers and Managers bring extensive experience in coaching fundamentals, prioritizing player safety, and fostering community leadership. Membership in GMSAA is considered a distinction for both programs and participants. The league has supported the advancement of thousands of athletes to high school, collegiate, and professional levels, reflecting its commitment to excellence.

For high schools without a competitive middle school football program, GMSAA offers a premier level of competition. Membership has consistently contributed to stronger, more competitive high school programs, with teams regularly ranked among the best in the state at both middle school and high school levels.
